KAIZEN INSERTS
Easy to use!
Cutting Kaizen shouldn't be intimidating, it's a very easy foam to work with! Here's a video tutorial on how to cut Kaizen.
To start you're going to want to trace out your equipment with one of our fastcap kaizen foam markers. Depending on how snug you want the fit to be, you can either cut to the left or the right of the outline.
Then with a thin blade kaizen knife or a sharp knife of your choice, set the blade to how deep you want the cut out to be and then cut out your outline.
Peel out the foam by sticking your fingers underneath the cut out and then use your fingers as a sort of plow and peel it out at your desired layer.
After that last step check your fit by placing your gear back in and then adjust the cutout to your desired fit!
NOTE* Due to the nature of foam, minor surface anomalies are typical.
Foam Tolerances:
- Length and Width +/- 3%
- Thickness +/- 5%
I use the Rigid Tool box as a carrying case for my AR15 pistol. I have several of them all with the Kaizen inserts.

Does exactly what I need it to do! Very high quality and much better than pluck-and-pick foam. The cleaner you cut, the less foam shavings will be left over too — take your time layer by layer and be patient with the process.. I highly recommend tracing your gear on paper, cutting out the trace, and tapping it onto the kaizen foam in the position you want before making cuts into the foam itself.
It’s a piece of foam… works like it should but way overpriced for what it is.

Excellent product works well
This item is perfectly cut to fit snugly inside your makita macpac cases. I was very impressed with how well this fit.
The quality of the material is great but I will say you have to be patient with pulling apart the layers once cut. I used a scalpel blade which worked perfectly.
Once cut the layers do not just peel away, you basically are just pulling apart pieces at times and then ever once in awhile you get a nice pull on a full layer.
After getting past that which have patients becuase it takes time to get it the way you want. But once done the system is phenomenal at keeping your expensive equipment in place and perfectly organized.
I absolutely love this and would order again no doubt. Also shipping was pretty quick to the USA. I live in California and had mine within 7 business days. Not bad in my opinion and shipping rates were fair which is important to me as I look for best shipping rates when ordering items.
If your on the fence don't be, you will be happy with the final product. I outfitted a dozen macpac cases and am very pleased.
I bought the lid insert for my 48-22-8450 and the insert I received looks to be designed for a completely different lid.
Either that or it's just made incorrectly?
Excellent quality foam, easy to cut and far superior to the thin, stacked layers of black foam others offer. Those inserts never stay glued together and are difficult to cut due to grade deflection. The KCI foam is dense, has thick layers, fits tightly in the cases, cuts easily and is easy to "dig out" for good tool placement. I just wish it was a bit less expensive.

I wrote to KCI twice before the order shipped out with no response what so ever…. Very disappointing. The product was alright, but compared to others I had a hard time getting the layers to peel cleanly. It works, but if I were to do the drawer again I’d try a different brand.
Inserts fit the case really well. Using the 2 layers as a bit of a cradle so my wife can transport her sewing machine in a Packout. Only thing I’m disappointed in, is I ordered the black/red color combo, and received the straight black. Not a huge deal, but I sent a couple emails just to address that it happened, and never heard back even after a month.
These are a perfect fit for the Dewalt tstak drawers ! They were easy to cut and keeps tool box neat and organized.
